How Can Painful Urination Be Treated?

after left colon resection for bowel cancer, in May this year, my consultant said no sweetcorn, mushrooms & nuts. I inadvertently eat a brown hi-protein roll , which I found out later contained nuts and last night suddenly developed a urinary tract infection, which is very painful when I pass urine and there was blood in the urine. I have been to Poole Out of Hours clinic this morning, via 111 and they have prescribed a short sharp dose of antibiotics. The bleeding has stopped but what happens now? I still have pain sometimes passing urine.

Cranberry sachet once daily in a glass of drinking water , organic citrus fruits , vitamin C supplements help a lot . Necessary antibiotics , urinary alkalisers , anti inflammatory medications require prescription of your doctor ( who may decide depending upon your evaluation with required blood and urine tests ) . Keep the genitals clean with antiseptic liquids , dry . Wear loose , clean , cotton inner wears . Avoid exposure to excess heat . Avoid smoking , alcohol if using . Keep blood sugar under control. Avoid sexual intercourse ( if active ) till recovery.
