How Can Painful Urine Retention After A Surgery Be Treated?

How can i avoid having painful urine retention after surgery? In my past 2 surgeries, it has taken many hours and multiple catheters for me to pass enough urine to be released from the hospital. Is there a drug (Flomax?) that I can use pre-surgery to avoid the situation?

sorry, you can only try strong antibiotics (gentamycine,amikacine,ciprofloxacin.uricine). however ,if you have BHP try flomax in this combination.
