How Can Painful Varicose Vein Behind The Knee Be Treated?
I have an issue with myleg. Right Behind the knee on the back of my leg I have varacose veins. The other night I woke up and had a lot of pain in the area. I hD several hard areas that were painful to the touch. The leg hurts all the time now. What should I do?
Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.
When varicose veins become worsened they form nodules which do hurt, I would suggest you to visit a general surgeon to look into the matter, there are many clinical tests and investigations which can help, doppler ultrasound is one of them which can in detail tell if there is any obstruction in the flow of blood through these veins.
After knowing there severity a doctor can offer many modes of treatment for the problem which range from conservative treatment with tight stocking and pain killers to injection of sclerosing agent to surgery.
I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you. Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
