Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mouth seems to have lost some of the lining. It constantly feels like I have just eaten very spicy food, even though I have not. Food particles get caught in my lower gum area and do not float back up. I still have saliva but it tastes different.
It looks like the mucosa inside the mouth is peeling and it can be due to dry mouth or xerostomia, fungal infection, hormonal imbalances, side effect of medications, eating lots of spicy and citrus foods, allergic reactions etc.. However nutritional deficiencies can also be a cause.. So first of all you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated so that the exact cause shall be narrowed down.. As of now you can take Vitamin B complex supplements and along with it gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic Mouthwash. Avoid spicy and acidic foods. If there is dryness in mouth you can use oral lubricants like Oral gel.. Drink plenty of water.. Hold cool water in mouth for a minutes and then rinse off or you can suck ice pops, both these will help in reducing burning sensation..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
