Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a persistent cough. I used pro-air twice tonight, so 4 puffs total. I now took delsym and a cough drop, ricola. I m still coughing - dry cough. Nose is runny, but cough is non-productive. I have prescription codein with promethazine cough syrup but was hesitant to take it because I don t want to wake up groggy. Can I take it now, or will it be too much in combination with what i already took? Thanks!
As per your query, you have symptoms of persistent cough and cold which is impairing your immunity and this is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it could be due to granular pharyngitis.
Need not to worry about it. Visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. These symptoms normally take 3 days to go. If the cough is exaggerating go for chest X-ray, blood and sputum test. If it is bacterial infection start with a proper course of antibiotics. Till then give crocin. Yes, you can go ahead with the current prescription. Apply mist humidifiers in the room. Take proper rest without any discomfort. Take water after every few mins.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
