How Can Persistent Cough Be Treated?

I have a cough that is random and they can not find anything with my lungs. I have paid in my lower legs and feet at night and wonder if this could be related. I have Crohns and also wonder if could be gerd. When they did my last colonoscopy they said that I coughed very hard when they tried to scope me but didn't find anything except mild to moderate Crohns.

Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Take cough suppressants
-Take mucolitics
-Use a humidifier at home
-Drink liquids
