How Can Pinched Nerve Be Treated?

I have a pinched nerve with severe pain in my low back, right thigh and hip. This is the 2nd time in a year it has pinched. My family doc has prescribed: Oxyneo 40mg/ twice per day, Elavil 25 mg 3/day, Amitriptiline 25mg 2/day, Ratio Oxycocet 5 & 325 mg 2 tablets every 4 hours. The pain never goes away and it is a 9 when I wake up. After meds it calms down to a 6 or 7. It is difficult to urninate and bowel movements are extremely difficult. I can't push due to the pain. I am very constipated and have been taking meds for that also. My neuroligist is away until the 17 Aug. I can't wait much longer to see her a the pain is just too much. SHould I see a chiropractor?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
hi,

as you mentioned about the symptoms and the treatment you have been taking. Due to reduced metabolism of the cellular physiology there is reduced absorption capacity of the cells. Also , you can try physical therapy as by the application of therapeutic ultrasound therapy and TENS therapy the pain and spasm will be reduced. Chiropractic treatment will help for symptomatic relief but the weakness of the muscle is the concern here. Performing core stability, pelivc floor Strengthening and spine muscle Strengthening will weane the compression from the nerve as the pinching has occurred due to the weakness of the muscle which can be helped by physcial therapist to learn the exact mode of exercises. 99% of cases recover with physical therapy and get back to function.

with the grace of God I wish you a speedy recovery
