my husband has a pinched nerve in his back, His surgeon has ordered a pain block be done to determine if the pain is coming from damage to his T12 Vert... but he cannot get in to have it done until April 3 He has both Oxycodone and hydracodone but neither is giving him much help with the jabbing pain just above his hip in his back. A friend has reccommended Gabapentin saying it is a better pain releiver for nerve pain He is concerned about what reaction it will have with his other medications

How Can Pinched Nerve On The Back Be Treated?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Prolonged Oxycodone helps in action of Gabapentine in pain management. Still it is advisable to consult your treating doctor for more personal advise. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
