Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been told i have pityriasis rosea and it should clear on its own. It has been 11 weeks now and is very depressing. I had no rash for around 2 weeks an thought it had gone then had a really bad flare up . When can i expect it to go once and for all. Help
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pityriasis versicolor is a self-limiting skin problem. Generally it takes 4 to 6 weeks to fade away itself. So better you leave it to its natural course. However if it's really teasing like itching, application of low potency steroids topically may help symptoms control.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Rahman
