How Can Plantar Fasciitis Causing Foot Pain Be Treated?

Hi, I recently went to the doctor about some foot pain I had, plantar facitis. She told me to put ice on it and stretch it out, but it doesn't help. I think I need crutches, because sometimes it hurts to walk on. I don't want my mom to think I just want to play with them though. Do I need them?
