How Can Plugged Ears Be Treated?

I had a pretty bad sore throat about a month ago, but my ears were plugged. It cleared up after a week, some coughing and sinus but not enough to take anything for it,. I did gargle with salt water, used a neti pot for the sinus, essential oil on my neck and around my ears. All symptoms are gone except my ears are still plugged. This happens most everytime I get a cold and I am losing my hearing

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from acute bilateral eustachian tube block. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use antibiotics twice a day for five days. use tablet sinarest twice a day for five days.If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
