How Can Post Nasal Drip Be Treated?
My 85 year old father has recently experienced sensitivity to the touch on the left side of his face along with constant phlegm development running down the back of his throat. His ENT did a balloon procedure in his sinus and when that didn t help, she did a sinus scraping. The sensitivity/pain continues. He saw a neurologist and received 5 shots around the eye with a nerve blocker. Still constantly hacking up phlegm, but now there is blood present. Please Help! My Dad is at the end of his rope!

He can rinse the nose with saline water. Can use antihistamines such as Benadryl or Cetirizine for secretions.
Also can use decongestants such as pseudoephedrine or other nasal spray such Flonase. His doctor can do a nasoscopy to see if he has polyps.
