How Can Postnasal Drip And Cough Be Cured Despite Taking Sudafed?

I had a brief cold, 2 days, and now I my head and sinus are achy. I am experiencing post nasal drip
and it makes me cough so hard, that I can not breath. Sometimes it makes me throw up-
I have tried Sudafed, and it relives the pain and pressure in my head but not the drip or the cough.
It kept me up all night.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection also known as Common Cold and the symptoms that you are experiencing seems to be due to it..
As it is a viral infection symptoms will resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in the body..
As you ave taken sudafed that is a decongestant it will provide symptomatic relief by decongesting the respiratory passages..
You can also take anti allergics like Levocetrizine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, continue taking Sudafed, decongestant nasal sprays like Xylometazoline..
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain an aches..
Do steam inhalations and warm saline gargles..
Sip on plenty of warm water and take a soft diet..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
