How Can Psoriasis Be Treated?

I have desonide cream .05% that was prescribed for my psoriasis 2 years ago. I have since moved to another state and have a full tube (my psoriasis went dormant). I do occasionally get small spots, and I am curious if my desonide is still usable and effective?

Hello,

You can use Topical Corticosteroid creams, Calcitriol (Vectical), Salicylic acid based shampoos, Aloe vera moisturizers to get rid of itching.
Oral medications (Methotrexate, Cyclosporin) are effective, take it under the consultation of PCP. If required take photo-therapy under the treatment of the dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K
