How Can Psychosis And Hallucinations Be Treated?
My 22 year old son has back pain from spondolythesis, has had serious depression and has been suicidal for his adult life. He has refused to take pharmaceuticals. He self-medicates with marijuana, coke, alcohol. In the last month he has had psychotic episodes early in the mornings ( starting around midnight) WHERE HE HEARS VOICES telling him to kill himself or other people. He feels his whole life is useless. He feels he has tried everything but he actually hasn t. I am in Northern California. I am thinking about finding the right doctor in San Francisco. Until then???

He may be suffering from third person hallucinations or auditory hallucinations or evil hallucinations seen in schizophrenia or affective disorders.
It is an emergency to consult your psychiatrist immediately in case of suicidal tendency. Otherwise, it is harmful to himself and society.
