How Can Pus Discharge From A Ruptured Ear Be Treated?
Hello. I have a ruptured ear drum about 4 months ago and pus comes out of that ear. I consulted an ENT he gave me antibiotics for infection for 10 days after that pus stops. Then after month or so pus again starts. Then i took same medicines then pus stops again. Now 4th time in 4 months again pus comes from that ear. What should i do ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pus discharge from a ruptured ear . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like otitis media , barotrauma , physical injury or acoustic trauma. I would suggest you to apply dry warm compresses externally and keep it dry while bathing . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine ear with otoscope along with imaging techniques . Doctor may prescribe other antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or may recommend tympanoplasty . Sometimes infection travel from upper respiratory track to ear through eustachian tube , so doctor may also examine throat bu ordering throat swab test or viral culture test.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
