How Can Raised Bumps On The Hands And Legs Of Babies Be Treated?

My son is two years old, and yesterday he had a temp of 102. Today, it has gone down to 99. Now, he has a rash of raised warm bumps on his arms and legs. There are a few bumps on his forehead. He has scratched a few of them open, that have scabbed over. He is also not eating, just drinking.

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your history it looks like chicken pox so visit your doctor to confirm it.your doctor may advise an antihistamine[levocetirizine] and antiviral like acyclovir and paracetamol for fever. You can do few things at home which will relive his symptoms.

You can take half teaspoon of baking soda and mix it well into a glass of water and sponge it in for itching. Once the disease is cured and the scabs have dropped off the skin, give the baby a neem bath. For this, soak neem leaves in warm water and bathe with this water.

Hope that helps
