Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I feel flushed(low grade fever) and have about 6 red welts on the back of my neck, which sometimes tingle. Started yesterday, had a flu shot this AM Have taken 1 benedryl..doesn t seem to have any effect. Have slight chills also Since I am going out of country Tues, my walk in MD gave me Keflex, 500 mg, which I have not yet taken. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the back and neck which seems to be that fact that you are being exposed to the allergen and this is the reason that the allergic reaction is persisting. Cover your skin while going outside to protect you skin from harmful UV radiations. I would suggest you to take proper course of antihistamine drug along with short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Wash skin with solution containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelaic acid. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition . Doctor may prescribe isoteritenoin , steroid ointment or antibiotics course. Drink plenty of water , eat fresh fruits and vegetables for mineral and vitamins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
