How Can Rashes Under The Breasts And On The Stomach Be Treated?

i'm having a problem with rashes that won't go away. I've used every kind of cortisone cream I can find, and allergy pills. The rashes are under my breasts and a fold of skin on my belly. I'm sweating like a pig so I just assumed it was heat rash but 6 months later it is still here. FYI I have scleroderma, lupus, interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. Melissa

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

The rashes seem to be those due to fungal infection as they are mainly involving the submammary folds and a skin fold on your belly. Moisture and warmth of body skin folds favors growth of the fungus. I suggest you to use an OTC topical antifungal, e.g., Clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for a few days. In addition, I suggest you to use an antifungal dusting powder, e.g., Clotrimazole 1% dusting powder which would keep the folds dry and unfavorable for the fungus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
