How Can Rectal Bleeding Be Treated?

Hi i have been suffering from rectal bleeding for almost a month now. I saw a doctor and started medicine 3rd day after it started. Later i started having ayurvedic medicine also and im continuing it. I controlled my diet by avoiding non veg, spicy foods and included more fibre foods, started having a lot of fruits and vegetables, leban etc. Still bleeding is not stopping although reduced a little bit. I have no abdominal pain although i feel pain in anal area. How long it will take for complete cure. Shall i worry??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I need to know what was your diagnosis after examination. Since one month bleeding is not normal. Rectal polyp, proctitis, colitis, piles, tumor growth etc. should be ruled out. Your proctoscopy examination should be done first. If piles present and not controlled by stool softener and anti-inflammatory drug, then operative measure adopted. According to cause specific treatment given.

Consult gastroenterologist for examination and discuss your management plan accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
