How Can Recurrent UTI Be Treated?

I finished one week of amoxicillin after oral surgery -- three times a day. I feel like I m getting a uti. Frequent need to urinate, pinkish urine. The last one I had was in 1979. I am sixty one. Is this possible? Anything I can do since I m about to get on a airplane.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Frequency to urinate and blood in the urine (pink color), are signs/symptoms of a possible urinary tract infection.
Some persons may also have urgency, discomfort on urination, abdominal pain, fever.

The use of cranberry products may help along with a lot of water to flush the urinary tract.
If it is an infection however, a course of antibiotics would be needed.

Some infections do not respond to amoxicillin, this is the reason that it may not have had an effect on this infection.

I hope this helps
