How Can Recurrent Bacterial Vaginal Infection Be Treated?

Hello, I have had bacteria vaginal infection for almost a year and a half because every time I get treated, I end up with the infection again for the third time and my husband refuses to get treatment. So , I refuse to have sex with him. I still have the infection but haven't been able to get treatment due to insufficient funds. I will get treatment in January of 2017.

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Vaginal bacterial infection mostly bacterial vaginosis
Improper hygiene, diabetes, tight clothing, pure immunity increase the risk of infection.
I would suggest to consult consult gynecologist and undergo vaginal swab tests, vginal cell microscopy to confirm infection.
Following treatment will help you:
Tablet metronidazole for 7 days for symptomatic relief
For longe term management apply 0.7% intravaginal metronidazole gel (once daily at bedtime) for 6-8 week
Wash vagina with warm salted water 2-3 times per day and then apply apple cidar vinegar
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene by using V vaginal plus wash
Treatment of partner is also require
Wear pure cotton loose inner.
Avoid: chemical cosmetics, perfumed soap, douching, excessive sweet in diet
Drink plenty of water and eat healthy diet with mutivitamin supplements
Hope this may help you

Contact further if follow up needed
