How Can Recurrent Headaches And Migraine With Aura Be Treated?

I get headaches daily and also migraine with aura. However, Norgesic Forte was the best drug to take the pain away and I did not have to miss work. It did not make me sleepy either. I have been struggling since it was discontinued a few years ago. Acupuncture does work and I go to this every 6 weeks. What do you think of the new Cefaly device? It is expensive, but I am willing to pay for it. My doctor should prescribe it for me, but he is not up on these things. Thank you. Patty

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cephaly is an FDA approved device for decreasing the frequency of migraines. There is some evidence that shows that transcutaneous nerve stimulation helps reduce migraines.

At the same time, try breathing methods to minimise the frequencies. If these things doesn't help, you could ask your doctor to look further into the efficacies of this device.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
