How Can Recurrent Herpes Be Treated?

My friend(50) is suffering from frequent attacks of herpes (HSV) and the the spot of attack is penis. He was prescribed Valtoval 1g tablets, 1 tab every day for 1 month. After the course he developes the same symptoms again and again. He has taken 3 courses already and is yet to get cured . What treatment should take to get completely cured?

Since your friend is getting repeated attacks of herpes, long term suppressive therapy with valacyclovir can prevent a recurrence. Please discuss with his primary provider regarding long term acyclovir therapy.
