How Can Recurrent Renal Oncocytoma Be Prevented?

Hello doctor, I have a question: my friend -man has return of oncocytoma tumors on both kidneys after getting partial nephrectomy on both kidneys....is there is a medication he can take to prevent ( or help to slow growing) the tumors to grow. My friend is 70 year old very athletic and does not have any other serious health issues. Multiple tumors appear after 2-4 years after the initial surgery. One kidney about 4 years ago and the other kidney 2 years ago. Thank you

Thank you for your question
Oncocytoma is a a tumour of borderline malignancy in the kidneys common in adults.
The most effective mode of treatment is resection as complete resection is curable. most of the tumour are multiifocal so removing one or several large visible lesion may leave other small which may grow into large tumours within very short time.
They have very poor response to chemethersphy or radiotheraphy
You can consult oncologist or renal specialist.
