Hi,

As a physician i would like to tell you that your doctor is right in telling you that because curdy white discharge usually points to Bacterial Vaginosis. I would also like to tell you it could also be due to Candida infection. Thus, you could also take a course of Candid-V6 pessary tablets for a period of 6 days.

I would also like to tell you that fungal and bacterial infection recur again and again if you have lower immunity levels, using tampons, douching recurrently. So, try to avoid these conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet

Hi,

Recurrence of bacterial vaginosis is common. Your infection could be due to bacterial vaginosis or fungal infection. Improper hygiene, diabetes, tight clothing, pure immunity, douching, smoking, and the IUD, multiple sex partner increase the risk of infection.

I would suggest to consult gynecologist and undergo vaginal swab test to confirm the cause. Following treatment for bacterial vaginosis will help you.

- Oral metronidazole twice daily for 7 days 0.75% metronidazole cream one applicator intravaginally at bedtime for 4-6 months. Vaginal suppository of lactobacillus.

Both the partners should have the treatment simultaneously. Avoid douching and perfumed soap and cosmetics. Wear pure cotton loose inner and maintain hygiene. Avoid excessive sweet in diet. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy diet and do regular exercise.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
