How Can Recurring Herpes Infection Be Treated?

Hi. I had my first Herpes outbreak in February, when I tested positive on a culture and negative on a blood test for HSV 2. It should be noted the culture was taken four days after the sores appeared, and the blood test was taken eight days after the initial exposure. Eight months after my initial blood test, I tested positive for HSV 2. I have not had another outbreak since my initial outbreak, and my doctor is uncertain as to whether or not I actually have it. There is a lot of conflicting reports about Herpes and Herpes diagnosis accuracy. I need help as I feel very sad, stigmatized, and alone.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think there is not a definitive cure about it. You can take acyclovir tablets if you have an outbreak to make it resolve faster. Also, you can use calamine lotion over the lessons. Take citerizine for itching and ibuprofen for inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
