How Can Recurring Shingles In The Eyes Be Treated?

My mother is 93 years old and has recurring shingles in her eye for about 10 years. Would the shingles vaccine help to prevent more flare-ups? Her general health is very good -- doesn t even need any prescription drugs. She takes Valtrex at the first sign of a flare-up but it doesn t always work for her.
