How Can Rib Displacement Be Treated?

I suffered 2 injuries, one as a child, and, one as an adult. As a child, I fell across a metal bar, while my arm was wrapped around it. The pain was severe, and, a thoracic rib was displaced, leading to a life time of popping sternum. After an auto accident, that was resolved. Only to have a violent strike to a floating rib (above my abdomen), just a year later. Now, seemingly, the same rib has dislodged from my back, never sitting correctly. Periodically, I manage to pop it back into my back, to great relief. What can I do? Can they fix it surgically? There may be more than one rib involved (possibly the floating ones).
