How Can Ringworm Infection On The Ankle Be Treated?

My doctor said I have ringworm around my ankle that appears to be spreading. He has prescribed several different medications to assist. None seem to give me the satisfaction I need. Now he has me using an Econazole Nitrate Cream 1% and taking Terbinafine tablets. I wake up in the middle of the night with severe itching. What else can I do to stop this itching? I ve been miserable and taking the tablets for about 2 weeks now. Help, please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The nonresponding fungal infections need oral antifungal medicines along with local application &local hygiene.
You should consult a skin specialist for exact diagnosis followed by advise of specific drugs.
Thanks.
