How Can Sagittal Craniosynostosis Be Treated?

my son has been diagnosed with sagittal cranisynostosis, the neurosurgeon said that he needs surgery, but I so confuse, his development is normal, the soft spot is still open (he is 8 months)does not have any simptoms, the only thing is the shape of his head, is a little narrow, but ridge or anything. Should a allow the surgery or keep observing ??
