How Can Sand Like Particles And Itching On The Scalp Be Treated?

My 17 year old grand daughter has what looks like white sand on her scalp. I thought maybe it was hair products so I wash and rinsed her hair myself to make sure it was totally clean. Still no luck. She does say it itches. I know what lice looks like and it is not that.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

As per your history it seems to me that your daughter is either suffering with progesterone deficiency or she is having a fungal infection

My opinion is use anti fungal shampoo like ketokenezole (Naziral) or take oral anti fungal medication but only after consulting with your doctor.

The severe deficiency of female hormones also present with same symptoms sometimes, you may need to consult a Gynecologist for the said reason too.

Hope my answer will help you little and visit us back in case you need any further assistance.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
