How Can Scabies Be Prevented?

I have been helping a woman in and out of a wheelchair and found out she has scabies. It has been a few months that this has been going on. She was itching and I took her to the Dr. thinking it was caused by her medications. The internist diagnosed it as scabies. I have washed my bedding twice in hot water and my clothing and towels. I leave for a vacation oversees November 1st. I got hibiclenz and have been scubbing with this and salt scrub daily. How will I know if I have it before I depart? Should I get a perscription or deal with this before I go or wait until I know I have it. Thinking positive but a little worried. I m 5 2 and 130 lbs. 55 years old.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I suggest you deal with it now, do the same to your bed linens and get the creme before you depart. Just to be safe.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
