How Can Sciatic Nerve Pain In The Right Leg Be Treated?
I am a thyroidectomy patient taking synthroid since 2009, 60 years old, with a degenerative back suffering chronic sciatic nerve pain right leg. I exercise 5 days weekly, 3-4 hours doing moderate to hi impact. I take supplements magnesium and something for the joints with turmeric. Alieve and Advil starts me to bleed. I am anemic and have hemorrhoid. How can I combat this inflammation caused by sciatic nerve. Currently, I have elemenated artificial sweetener, sugars, oats, corn, peanut butter. I stopped doing body pump. I stretch and do Pilates. I am still in pain
The symptoms seem to be related to sciatica pain. I suggest to continue the use of anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg. If it is not effective you can try prescription painkiller such as Gabapentin. I recommend gentle stretching exercises and physical therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
