How Can Sciatic Pain Be Treated?

I am taking gabapentin for sciatic pain while awaiting to get a epidural shot sometime next week. I have been having extreme pain and the gabapentin does not seem to work all that well. I take 1 pill every 12 hours and have also been taking 2 Tylenol every 4 hours but am still in extreme pain and can t seem to get any rest. What can I possibly do to help get some rest and help ease the pain? Is there any other medication I could possibly take to help with the pain?
