Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i had a severe sciatic attack in the end of april and took a medrol pack as prescribed by my dr. i am under pain management for stenosis. i have lost 85 lbs and feel much better and thus joyfully over do without realizing. recently stretching in the pool, putting in solar lights, alot of bending and riding a new recumbent bike all in attempt to exercise with dr. permission. alas i always over due and now find myself crying every day now for 4,5 days in pain with another unfortunate sciatic attack. can i safely take a medrol pack as i have one and would like to start taking. i have tried i bupropen the last couple days and take curcumin daily, the pain meds help relief, but not to any degree. can i take medrol pack its been 2 mos since last attack when a medrol pack provided relief. i know the side affects and dont like to take to often. shots no longer help. have dr. appt next wk and mri sch for end of next wk, but am suffering now.
Since you do have appointment with the doctor for next week, and are to get an MRI done, that is just great! For the time being, to get relief from the sciatic pain, take adequate rest. Please avoid standing and ambulation for too long. Avoid any strenuous physical activity. You may take anti inflammatory pain killers like Brufen or Voveran tablets.
