How Can Severe UTI Be Treated?

I have an incredibly severe UTI and have been treated with Alprim for it in the past. I am waiting on test results to potentially change the antibiotics if Alprim is not effective. In the mean time, I m in a world of pain. Can I take two Alprim as an initial dose and continue to take the rest daily?

Hello,

Resistant urinary tract infection (UTI) requires urinalysis and culture and sensitivity test in order to determine the appropriate antibiotic. Alprim is a widely used antibiotic for simple urinary tract infection. The appropriate dose of Alprim is once daily for seven days. I suggest that you drink plenty of fluids and use a pain killer when required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahmoud Abouibrahim
