How Can Severe Acid Reflux Be Treated?

My son, 50, has had acid reflux attacks on and off since early this morning. He does take a prescription for it, but it still flares up occasionally. Is there anyhing I can give him to stop the spitting up of the bile/phlegm. He s been vomiting it all day.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe acid reflux which is due to gastroesophageal reflux disease as there is formation of acid in stomach and it regurgitates into esophagus and mouth and causes your symptoms.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take lemon carbonated drink and take a glass of water with one ENO pouch dissolved in it to get immediate relief. Avoid intake of sharp and spciy food. Walk every day 30 minutes after meal and you can also take half cup of aloe vera juice once daily. If your symptoms did not relieve then you should visit gastroenterologist once . Doctor may prescribe proton pump inhibitor medicines and H2 blockers.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
