I am very anxious, I deal tinnitus constantly since 1994. Sometimes I worry I ll lose my mind. I have been prescribed Cymbalta but afraid to take it. Can you please enlighten me, please.
hello there, I have gone through your question and understand your worries. You already have been diagnosed with multiple condition like renal failure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, hernia and tinnitus. For the person having so many illnesses, its not uncommon developing anxiety also. I treat my patients with anxiety disorder with two kind of treatment. First is pharmacotherapy where I prescribe anti anxiety medicines which has to be continued at least 9 months after relief from anxiety. Second is psychotherapy or counselling sessions where we teach relaxation, helps boost confidence, develop coping skills and give supportive therapy. You may consider these options after consulting your psychiatrist.
