How Can Severe Anxiety Be Treated?

I have had a virus for a few weeks now, sore throat, diarrhoea on and off and fuzzy dizzy heads which can be quiet bad. I ve had hot flushes with sweaty hands and feet but worst of all is the anxiety and insomnia. I spent 2 weeks in bed feeling pretty lousy but am trying to get up a bit now despite feeling awful. My heart rate is fast and pounds away constantly. I can t seem to control the shakes in my legs and my whole body feels full of stress. I ve just started to take Kalms and Kalms night to try and control the anxiety side of things but after 4 days am not feeling any better..is it too soon to feel any benefits yet? If I can control the panic and get some good sleep I m sure the virus will sort itself out, but how can I calm down naturally without resorting to antidepressants/prescribed medication. Please help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Take it easy. Skip caffeine, alcohol or addictions if any, as they will trigger your anxiety & discomfort. Take soups or juices & stay away from stress. Listen to music, do light stretch exercises to relax your muscles. Learn to love yourself & ignore stress caused by social problems. Watch comedy & help yourself relax. Keep yourself well hydrated & nourished to feel warm & comfortable.

You are recommended to visit ER & get examined, you may need some medications like anxiolytics or antidepressants, sedatives, etc. These medications should be taken under a consultant. You may need the help of a pschotherapist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
