How Can Severe Anxiety Be Treated?

Hi, I have had generalized anxiety disorder since I was a child and as an adult I have been on a cocktail of SSRI s and klonopin and zyprexa for years and it has worked pretty effectively. But my nerves have been raging out of control for the past few weeks, klonopin isn t relieving any anxiety. my doctor just prescribed me some ativan which I will hopefully take tonight. what are your thoughts?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Vatican is a good choice for short term control of anxiety symptoms.
Once the acute worsening of anxiety have subsided, African can be slowly titrated down and discontinued.Ativan is not appropriate for long term therapy.
You can continue Maintenance therapy with SSRIs and Klonopin. If not used earlier, buspirone can be tried.

Hope this answers your question
