How Can Severe Bleeding And Cramping After A Miscarriage Be Treated?

My fiance just was diagnosed with a miscarriage and has to wait it out for her body to get rid of the baby. She just told me she is bleeding severly and is cramping but is not having any sort of contraction. Should she go to the emergancy room immediately or wait it out to see if the bleeding stops?
