How Can Severe Bruising On The Index Finger Be Treated?

A month ago I fell and dropped several sticks of fire wood on my index finger. I have movement with no pain but it is sore to the touch and still swollen. I don t feel that it is broken since I have a wide range of movement, could severe bruising continue this long?

Hi,
Thanks. For asking.
Bruising wuthout any forgein body entering the tissue or infection...should statt healing after a gap of 15 -21 days after actual injury.
You need careful examination of the finger also inspect the surroundigs to exclude infection . Excluding diabetes after glucose tollerance test is also essential.
Consult your family physician He would undertake cleaning the wound... removing dirt &debris if any &also excluding fracture a proper dressing of the wound would be done Oral anti biotic ,anti inflammstory drugs would hasten the healing.
Thanks.
