Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been to the doctors 3 times and seen a specialist. I have been told I have pink eye and was told I do not need a prescription by 2/3 doctors including the specialist. I have been taking over the counter eye drops. I had this for weeks, it went away and now it s back. My eyes are swollen, burning, leaking, in pain, sensitive to light itchy. Please help! Any ideas?
It's important to stop wearing contact lenses whilst affected by conjunctivitis. It often resolves on its own, but treatment can speed the recovery process. Allergic conjunctivitis can be treated with antihistamines. Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated with antibiotic eye drops.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
