How Can Severe Diarrhea In An Infant Be Treated?

I have a 20 months old daughter, she s been having a severe diarrhea these past 9 days almost 7 times to 10 times a day, I didn t want to give her any medicine I just stopped giving her milk and put her on BRAT diet, she s not eating much, she doesn t have fever but she s very weak. I have decided to take her to the doctor and he prescribed Flazol and Bactrim( sulprim) plus stop Colic my question is : Is it safe to give her antibiotics and that much medicine? Knowing that she have never taken any kind of medications before except tylenol And just a little. Ps: we are on vacation in a foreign country and she never had tap water just bottled water. Thanks for your help.

yes it is alright to give a course of antibiotic in a case of severe diarrhoea.
infection can happen in children due to unhygienic food and dirty hands apart from unclean water.
children can also have diarrhoea due to change in diet.
after antibiotic give her probiotics to replenish her intestinal flora
give hear overcooked food which is easily digestible.
hope it helps
thank you
