How Can Severe Earache Be Treated?

I feel so bad my son was complaining about ear wax moving around in his ear and so I tried to get it out with an ear digger and accidentally poked his inner ear while trying to pull his ear wax out and he cried and said it really hurt and now I can barely touch it because it hurts. Did I do any damage? I feel sooo bad☹️

Hello,

I think you should not clean inside the ear because ear cleans itself and wax has protection properties. Give him ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain relief. Make a prove with closing one ear to prove if he hears or not with another ear. If he doesn't hear, you have damaged the eardrum and have to see Otolaryngologist doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
