How Can Severe Eczema On The Body And Face Be Treated?

I have severe eczema which went from mild to severe 2.5 months ago after being close to a horse. I took a steroid shot which blew me up like a balloon! and then I got better for a month and now it s back and way worse - all over my body and my face is swollen. I have a doc appointment on Monday - wondering what I can do NOW. Benadryl?
