Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have had fatigue for last couple years. The kind of fatique you get from total exhaustion. Full night sleep and still tired and nap required middle of day. Diagnosed with sleep apnea in June and war mask. Hoped that would help but it has not. I jog about 20 miles a week and have had difficulty finishing a 5 mile run. It used to be that the 1st mile was the hardest and then easy but now it the 1st is the easiest. Recovery time from exercising is sometimes several hours. I am pre diabetic..recent blood work shows normal everything except i had a 125 blood sugar reading and my ldl was slightly high. I have been taking allopurinol for around 10 years due to gout issues in early 2000 s. Haven t had gout for the 10 years. Going to redo my bloodwork this week and schedule next appt to discuss this problem. I travel 2 to 3 days a week for work and that too is more and more difficult. Any ideas or suggestions?
As you been diagnosed with sleep apnea than I think you should look for BiPAP machine which works like the artificial respiration for few days so the breathing pattern comes under control and the missing of breathing doesn't occur.
Also, you need to do regular exercise for the core, upper limb and lower limbs. Also, aerobics is a good choice. Since fatigue is caused due to less supplication of the oxygen to the body you need to improve your endurance levels and also the overall well being.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most fatigue induced cases have commonly affected with sleep apnea and with the above-mentioned program they respond well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
