How Can Severe Food Poisoning Be Treated?

My daughter started vomiting violently within thirty minutes after eating out at a restaurant the other night. It was so forceful she could hardly get a breath in. It happened so abruptly - she thought she'd been poisoned. She had to call 911 in fear she was going to choke on her vomit. She never had any diarrhea. However, she was in a lot of pain, due to
still healing from a recent back surgery.

Hi. Thanks for query.
For temporaily relief till you meet a doctor she can be given tablet pantaprazole with domperidone. With this her vomiting will be under control and she can take fluids.
If the abdominal pain doesnt settle down it is better to get an ultrasound scan of abdomen and look for any abnormalities.

If no abnormalities , nothing to worry it will settle down in a while.

Adviced plenty of water, ORS and soft diet till you meet a doctor.

If the patient is very sick and not able to take oral feeds, need Intravenous fluid administration.

Hope its helpful
Thank u
