Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Hair Loss Caused After Treatment For Cancer Be Treated?
I just finished 30 radiation treatments on my head - I have had Squamous Cell Cancers removed on forehead and top of head which the radiation caused my hair to fall out from my forehead to the back of my head - like Larry of the Three Stooges - my question is will my hair grow back and is there any way to know how long it takes?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I think the time the hair needs to regrowth after radiation depends of the strength of radiation and the length of thetapy. It may need from 3-6 months for hair to regrowth. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
